Our Small and Minority Business Council serves as an advocate for small business members, with a focus on companies with 10 or fewer employees. It also energizes the chamber’s overall efforts to meet the needs of its diverse small-business community. The Business Education Partnership Committee invests in the future of the region through support of education initiatives. Two key initiatives are the Golden Apple Program and Project Connect. With member support, the Golden Apple Program gives perks and discounts to private and public school personnel in Southern Beaufort County. Project Connect links businesses, organizations and individuals with public school classrooms that are in need of items or services. The Government Affairs Committee provides a common meeting place for the exchange of ideas and to stimulate thinking on civic matters. The goal is to inform, educate and facilitate. The committee brings together community leaders, members and guests who share an interest in what happens in our region, county, state, and nation.
